Hepatoblastoma
Overview
Hepatoblastoma is a form of liver cancer seen almost exclusively in children. It is a tumor in the liver due to an abnormal growth of embryonic or fetal liver cells during development. It is usually diagnosed before the child is three years old due to abdominal swelling. The swelling occurs because the tumor growth causes an enlargement of the liver. Individuals experience symptoms of pain in their stomachs, pale skin, vomiting, and weight loss.
