Ovarian remnant syndrome

Ovarian remnant syndrome is a disorder that occurs after surgery to remove both ovaries, and is caused by the ovarian tissue that is left behind. Symptoms include mass and regular pelvic pain or blockages of the urinary tract. Ovarian remnant syndrome is more likely to occur in women who have or have had endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, tumor, prior abdominal surgeries, or increased blood vessels in the pelvis prior to the surgery.
