Anaplastic lymphoma kinase gene rearrangements in patients with advanced-stage non-small-cell lung cancer: CT characteristics and response to chemotherapy.

Author(s): Jangchul Park, Hidekazu Yamaura, Yasushi Yatabe, Waki Hosoda, Chiaki Kondo, Junichi Shimizu, Yoshitsugu Horio, Kimihide Yoshida, Kosuke Tanaka, Tomoyo Oguri, Yoshihisa Kobayashi, Toyoaki Hida

Journal: Cancer Med. 2014 Feb;3(1):118-23.

Few articles have been published on the imaging findings of anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK)-positive non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). To investigate the radiological findings of ALK-positive NSCLC in the advanced stage, CT scans were examined. In addition, the response to chemotherapy ...

Clinical benefit from pemetrexed before and after crizotinib exposure and from crizotinib before and after pemetrexed exposure in patients with anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive non-small-cell lung cancer.

Author(s): Eamon M Berge, Xian Lu, Delee Maxson, Anna E Barón, Shirish M Gadgeel, Benjamin J Solomon, Robert C Doebele, Maria Varella-Garcia, D Ross Camidge

Journal: Clin Lung Cancer. 2013 Nov;14(6):636-43.

Crizotinib produces high response rates and prolonged PFS in ALK+ NSCLC. Retrospective analyses suggest enhanced sensitivity to pemetrexed in crizotinib naive ALK+ NSCLC. Cross-resistance between crizotinib and pemetrexed has not been previously investigated.

Diagnostic assays for identification of anaplastic lymphoma kinase-positive non-small cell lung cancer.

Author(s): Andrew J Weickhardt, Dara L Aisner, Wilbur A Franklin, Marileila Varella-Garcia, Robert C Doebele, D Ross Camidge

Journal: Cancer. 2013 Apr;119(8):1467-77.

In series dominated by adenocarcinoma histology, approximately 5% of non-small cell lung cancers (NSCLCs) harbor an anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK) gene rearrangement. Crizotinib, a tyrosine kinase inhibitor with significant activity against ALK, has demonstrated high response rates ...

Crizotinib: a novel and first-in-class multitargeted tyrosine kinase inhibitor for the treatment of anaplastic lymphoma kinase rearranged non-small cell lung cancer and beyond.

Author(s): Sai-Hong Ignatius Ou

Journal: Drug Des Devel Ther. 2011 ;5():471-85.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) tyrosine inhibitors were first approved for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in 2003 in the US. Activating EGFR mutations were subsequently discovered in 2004, and heralded the era of molecular targeted therapy in NSCLC. The ...
